Hey guys, been a while hope all is well. Last week I had a flat repaired, came in next day, started the car, navigation keeps looping the sts logo and the language in the display is foreign. Has this happened to anyone? I have checked the forum. Tried the battery disconnect / tap together, etc. The radio only plays static and ejects discs and navigation disc. I have added a pic. Some other notes, battery and starter replaced last month.
The screen is on a constant loop as in the pic, it never loads no way for me to change any settings. as you can see in the pic, the car is on, and should already be at the main menu.
Do you have a lock pick installed? Mine did a similar thing intermittently when my lock pick went bad. But also with mine the battery reset brought it back every time. I ended up removing the lock pick.
here's the codes in the pic. So the dealership will not replace my cats due to a misfire. Ive tried to fix the misfire, when it does go away it comes back, then its random. All plugs and coils have been replaced. I feel the cats are causing it. I feel like i should just drill holes in the damn cats.
The only time I've seen the Nav reboot continuously like you describe was caused by a very weak battery. I used an ODBII scan tool to check the battery voltage and it was only 9.1 volts! Cabin lights, dash and all looked normal, but it really freaked out the Nav computer (and no start either). Maybe a brand new yet bad battery? Maybe a bad ground? Maybe loose battery cables? Once I replaced the battery, all was well...but I got a "Service Airbag" message, which my guess was caused by the freaked out, rebooting computer...after a few restarts, the message cleared on its own. Good Luck!
So Im assuming it was just the fuse, took it to inspect it and put it back in, turned the car on, all is well. Weird, I had left the battery disconnected for days since I work 48/96 schedule.
