I don't know how far is the Caddy located. If it's locally listed then I would strongly recommend getting it thoroughly inspected by your mechanic. If not then you can rely on: 1) the Car Fax Report and, 2) an inspection by a professional.
Remember: CARFAX is a voluntary reporting database - usually, the only info you see is title transfers and required emissions inspections. Even flood damaged car slip past CARFAX quite frequently.

If the DTS is at a dealer get the extended warranty.
