    But not all model years does that. Like mine, 06, will not time out. I left my gps plugged in and hours later it still indicated that it was charging as I saw it through the window. Led on the plug was on as well.

    no aftermarket anything, I took a voltage meter to it, and when I pulled the radio fuse it went down to 0. So would it be the radio or the amp?
