Any V owners on the forum in Southern California? San Diego specifically? I would like to meet some other owners in the area. Maybe cruise, see your rides, see your mods, pick your brain, etc. Let me know if you're out there!
I am near Temecula. You guys should check out motorgen.com it's a local SoCal forum for car nuts. They do cruises and meets lots of guys that do work on cars professionally so you can pick all the brains you want.
I think the 23rd would be fine for me also. I am trying to get the word out to as many V owners as possible so if you have other means of letting people know, go for it. You can email me at mike@bdxlinc.com
Cool. I don't know any other v owners yet but there is one that has been running around Temecula. Next time I see it I'll try and let them know about it. Post up how much it will be for the corral and we can all split it.
So, I checked the website on my phone and it's being difficult. Can someone give me a little bit more info on the event? Is it races? Car show? All of the above? Hahah
Here is some info:
The Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival is Fleet Week San Diego’s marquee event. The event features fast-paced, thrilling auto racing and exhibitions for car enthusiasts of all ages at one of the most distinctive race track locations — Naval Air Station North Island, the birthplace of Naval Aviation. Nowhere else can you see a variety of cars racing on a live runway used by the U.S. Navy.
This is the only Navy Open House on the West Coast. Naval Base Coronado is home to over 20, 000 active duty military and over 4,000 civilian employees. The general public only gets a glimpse of the daily activities happening at the base.
The Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival is produced by San Diego Fleet Week Foundation and hosted by the Naval Base Coronado and the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program (MWR) which benefits military personnel and their families. They in turn provide positive support for the active duty military community and their families through Quality of Life Programs including single Sailor Recreation Centers, Fitness and Aquatic Facilities and the Base Theatre Free Movies.

I remember going like the second year when I was like 16 with my dad. There are races but it is for classic cars. Mustangs, callengers, camaros and old BMWs getting after it, pretty fun stuff to watch. There is also a ton of cars lined up to look at. The corral, I don't know anything about that really, but it seems like if there is a car club, they reserve an area for you and you get a little special treatment by being able to park in the exhibition area with the other show cars, which mine clearly is not right now lol.
Oh by the way I will post this on the Motorgen forum to see if there is interest. If no one has emailed the event organizers already I will email them tonight to see if there is any more room for a few cars.
I think you might think I'm someone else. I'm new to the forum. Just saw your post about cars and coffee. I'm headed out there tomorrow and always want to check out other V's!
I showed up there this morning and they gave us a map to drive a private road off Ortega hwy!! I'm on my way back now, I'll send pics when I get back! Super cool!
Oh I think I know what they did with it this weekend. It goes up to the top of a hill to a small community right? There is like a little fire station and some sort of event? We did that a few years back.
Ahhh gotcha, Calabasass is too far from me lol. I am too lazy to go that far when I could be having a beer, well not that early in the moring... perhaps that was a bad comparo lols
What up! Any ************ in los angeles that want to meet for a cruise nite? I have a stock 2005 cts v and want to meet others to see what upgrades i should get and where to get them. Lets try to make it a big meet!
