I was wondering i have the Bose system in the 2000 seville but i went to look at a fitmant guide and i cant find anything and i also cant find any 8 inch speakers at all are you sure you have the right size for the bose sytem
4.5 inch speaker resides in there pretty darn sure
you need to get a 4 inch speaker and use some fill to take care of the gaps
or on ebay there is someone who sells an adapter plate to fit the 4.5 hole to make it a 4 inch hole
My '00 STS w/nav has 3 bose speakers in the dash. Any idea's on their size and possible cross references to other GM vehicles for the outer two tweeters.
To get more effective bass from your Bose system, set the bass all the way up, set the midrange all the way down, and then set the treble up about halfway and crank up the volume.
hey i had a few questions about my cadillac. its a 1991 deville and first i dont know how to determine if it has the bose system or not, and what are the sizes and locations of the speakers. thanks for the info in advanced
just wanted to know if the new bose speakers in the sts 05-10 use also 1 ohm? so I could replace my blown STS (98-04) bose speaker with the newer bose speaker? so the can not blown again
if I use the original spk so it can happen again
How can I tell if i have the Delco Bose Gold System. The head unit in the car is Delco Bose, but looks like it is an aftermarket one (see pic), but the rear speakers are blown. From what I am reading, you just cannot go out and buy any brand of speakers of the same size and install them. Why is that? One other question, it is not a speaker question, but does pretain to the radio system, how do you test a power antenna to see if it works before installing in your car? I found an antenna at a junk yark that was in the down position, so I figure it must still work, since most antennas that dont work are usually stuck up. Oh this is for a 92 Fleetwood FWD.

i have a 93 fleetwood brougham and noticed the rear speakers are quite larger than 6x9 yet everywhere i check tells me that 6x9 is the size to use. but since the speakers that are there there appear to be in an adapter i am just curious if anyone knows of larger speakers going into the rear deck without too much modification or where i can find some factory sized speakers?
I am seeing many conflicting sizes for the deville. Can someone tell me what size(s) are in my 2004 Deville (base) with non-bose? I took the doors off to replace the darn window regulators and they seem to be the same size but different ohms.
I don't think there are any full range car speakers that are larger than 6x9, which is why all the places online are listing them as 6x9. If the stock speaker is considerably larger than a 6x9, you may be able to replace it with an 8 inch midbass driver. The 8 incher would be round though and only play mid to low bass. This may not be a problem though since the stock speaker may just of been seeing the low notes anyway.
I haven't checked the wiring diagram for your car but I know that for my 97 deville, the "6x9's" were called subwoofers and only received the low frequencies. There is a crossover built into the stock amp that takes the mids/highs and send them to the doors/dash speakers. This is why when people replace their 6x9's with two or three way speakers, they still only play the low notes :banghead:.
I don't have any experience w/the 8 inch midbass drivers. They are not very common...it is basically an 8 inch "free-air" (meaning no enclosure needed) subwoofer that does not play very low.
If you just want a little more low end, a basic aftermarket 6x9 speaker would work fine. I replaced my stock ones w/a pair of kicker 6x9s on sale for like $95 total. It was a noticable upgrade...until I went w/a JL 10w3 :cool2:
Curious as to the speaker size for front and back in a 1990 Cadillac Seville. I checked online and a place said 5 and 1/4 inch for the front and 6x9 in the back. I would just like conformation. Also, would it just be simply buying them and installing or would I have to do anything special?
Does anyone of the ohms and configuration of the speaker wirings for the 2000-2005 Devilles?
