so ive got a crapload of wok to do on the bike soon. ive picked up a bunch of new parts:
Bazzaz Z-FI
Bazzaz Z-Bomb
K&N intake
Driven Block off plates
Michelin Power Pilot 3 tired
90 Degree aluminum valve stems
Exhaust cat delete
Gear indicator
then shews ready for the Dyno! i should be pushing something like 130 hp to the wheel, maybe a little less since i cheaped out an dont want to spend $600 on headers, but my tuner said with the cat delete/gutted it will still be a good tune.... he tunes bikes for a race shop that has won championships... he tole me he doesnt want to tune it unless i get rid of the cat just because it wont turn out nearly as good as it could.
edit - ok i decided to buy the Bazzaz Z-AFM and skip the dyno, i found out the Z-AFM is wat all the tuning shops are using now so the only downfall to not using the dyno and using just the Z-AFM is i wont be able to know my actual WHP. its a wideband auto tuner, just upload the bazzaz map turn the auto tuner on and go for a ride, it makes suggested changes to the map then you upload it on your computer and save it to the fuel module.
its suppose to be easy... we will see how it goes.
Planning on doing the Big 3 upgrade sometime soon. Any tips for me guys? I'm not making a monster system but in case I plan on upgrading in the future figured it be best to have this done now. Right now the system is about 7-800 watts
does anyone remember if some company makes poly front shock mounts or anyone who makes them for the cts?
mine are badly worn, ive been putting washers in to take up the space which worked for 2 yrs but now they are clunking again....shocks are only a few months old.
I have a 2003 Cadillac cts 3.2l . I'm having issues with this car . It's like a Chain reaction one after another . The issue that I am having now, is when I start the car it idles rough and sometimes cuts off and I can feel vibrations in the steering wheel. When doesn't cutoff it idles rough then when I go to drive or seems like the acceleration is poor at first then it's smooth but only from a dead stop. Is this a throttle position sensor issue?
ITA ALIVE!!!
i got my Bazzaz Z-FI and Bazzaz Z-AFM all hooked up and synced.
now ive got to learn how to tune the air/fuel down to 13.0, looks like its above 16 right now.
Yessir. I also have the rear FE4 shocks that I need to change the rubber washers for so I can install them without lifting the rear of the car up. I'm not sure where to get the washers from though. Hopefully I'll figure it out this weekend or next.
as this is a random forum here, i need info on a 03 cts 3.2 that has jumped time on one head, i read the thread on the 3.6 with the pics but i have a 3.2 with a belt and i'm sure that its not that diff i'm sure there are a few things i need to know. i am a diesel mech, everyday so i'm no stranger to heavy work as this will be but i need to find a place for cheap parts and a few good tips. thanks for any help you can give
I'm wiring 2006 CTS-V seats for my 36 ford streetrod is there a way to bypass all the junk and just make the power seats work and the lumbar work really don't need all the sensors and memory
best thing to do is get a wiring diagram, then only connect the power and ground wires that control the power seat parts.
i would first figure out which wires are for the air bag in the seat and dead end those, or find out how to remove the airbag safely then just hook the other wires up to a car battery and test till you get the features you want to work.
since your car is done you can feel free to spend time and money fixing mine now. stupid me changed out all the shocks and springs last year but didnt change the shock mounts...they are now worn out..
Looks like y'all know what I'm going to be up to next weekend...Trying to fix this drive line slack...Also got an exhaust leak near passenger cat...shizz...
Are you stock right now? I have eibach springs with v sways. The difference over stock is amazing. You won't notice the sways a whole lot until you go and really push the car, but when you do, its all smiles haha. I feel like I gained about 5mph and a ton of confidence on a corner I take all the time. The springs were an instant feel as well.
I want to race my car it is a Cadillac CTS 2004, i am wondering if i will have faster acceleration if i race in "4" instead of using "D" i noticed that 4 feels much more torquey and i will be racing from a dead stop like at a red light.
My understanding of our gear selector is that
2 lets you use gears 1-2
3 lets you use gears 1-3
4 lets you use gears 1-4
D lets you use gears 1-5 and overdrive
in my race i would not need gear 5 nor overdrive so which should i use.... and why and please tell me if my understanding of our gears is correct
Assuming this is a closed track race because street Racing is not allowed to be talked about in This forum.
Slap it into sport mode, mash the gas.
The cts is a heavy car..so keep that in mind when choosing who you are racing against
