This coming week i should have the cts coupe AWD. saw it with mesh grill at dealer ship and v serie rims.. looked crazy byt they want $6995 for package i can get mesh grill for 600.. any where i can get the wheels? replica or for a great price?
Rockryno...would 4 front sedan/wagon 19" V graphite wheels with 245/45/19 tires work on an 2012 AWD Wagon? I am thinking the narrower width V front wheel might solve any rubbing issues...
So bottom line ---will cts-v coupe wheels and tires work on a cts 4 coupe with the bias to the rear wheels(about4 revs) as compared to the bias to the front about(4 revs).-Will this affect the warranty, and I suspect it changes the 25/75 rear drive bias.
great and thanks>>>the V fronts must be the same for coupe/sedan/wagon...anyone have GM part numbers for the black/graphite V front wheels? These wheels with snow tires should look and work fine on my AWD wagon..thanks to LOW_ET for the specs on the V wheels>do you have the same info for 19" CTS wheels?
HELP QUICK, I just bought my wife an 10 awd wagon, it has factory 18s, I can purchase a set of 09 ctsv wheels off a sedan am I going to have ANY problems???????? what EXACT tire size do I need to run.... please help fast the guy is only holding wheels for a day
I just did the same on my sedan. You will need to swap out the front tires with 245/40/19 to get the size just about the same as the rear....car looks so much better with those rims!!!!
I recently purchased a CTS Coupe Perf. pkg w/AWD and noticed that the tires sizes were different. 235/50/18 in front and 265 /45/18 Rear,... the 19" OEM wheel option w/ 235.45.19 frt & 265.40.19 rr. will work on the AWD model as well.
Thought about going bigger but I learned my lesson years ago when I had to replace the axle on a Grand Cherokee because the ratio/differential was off due to aftermarket wheel sizes. Never more
I know, its been asked to death. And I've search but am not getting a good answer. I did find a thread with some good info, but conflicting tire sizes.
I have always wanted V rims. I have a chance to get them
2012 V Coupe
2011 CTS4 Coupe
What I am confused about is what tires to go with
The OEM tire size on the 19's for the AWD is 245/45/19 and 275/40/19 (I didn't think the Coupe AWD came with 19's as an option but it shows up everywhere) which is also the size a few people recommended getting.
This is a .5mph Bias to the rear tire, almost 50/50
The OEM tire size for 18s on an AWD Coupe is 235/50/18 and 265/45/18
This is a 4 Bias to the Front wheels.
Another size that was mentioned was 245/40/19 and 285/35/19
This is a 3.5 Bias to the Front wheels.
I never did get a straight answer on which one was the better choice, but I am leaning towards what Cadillac uses on the Coupes Stock 19's even though there is no FWD Bias. which is the 245/45 and 275/40.
I also like that it shares almost the exact same Diameter as the stock 18's.
If someone can link me to a thread with a solid answer or has the info for me I would appreciate it.
This is a really good question. I've been looking for an actual answer to this for about a month.
Madcabbie: Thank you for posting this and providing the detailed information you did. Hopefully someone will chime in if this is possible without the potential of damaging components of the drivetrain.
Re: CTS-V Wheels on 2012 AWD Coupe - Correct tire sizes?
Old thread but...It looks like 255/40/19 and 285/35/19 have a speed variance of .66%. I have read the need to keep it under 3%. Revs per mile are 774.55 vs. 769.47. For people with AWD, this seems to keep the AWD system in check for safe operation?

Re: CTS-V Wheels on 2012 AWD Coupe - Correct tire sizes?
Hello, I have an 08 AWD Sedan that I put V wheels and tires on and I wanted to give an update.
I read a bunch of threads on the V setup on our cars and best tire size's. There was a lot out there and most concluded the setup was within limits. So that is what I just stuck with since the tires only had 1100 miles on them. I have been running this V setup for 3 years with no issues.
Pilot Sport PS2 - Rear - 285/35/19 - 2143mm/682mm/ 751revs
Front- 255/40/19 - 2157mm/687mm/ 746revs
Tires worn out and was time to get new ones. One of the posts said to put on a smaller front (245/40) as this would be closer in overall size. So I purchased
Pilot Super Sport - Rear- 285/35/19 - 2143mm/682mm/ 751revs
Front-245/40/19 - 2132mm/679mm/ 755revs
Instant issue, had a grinding noise like a rear bearing went.
Took it in and the dealer replaced the drive shaft and the transfer case but still had noise. The work was done under warrenty.
Still had the noise, they replaced the wheels with stock 18" and noise was gone.
Now I am not sure what is going to happen. I hope they don't come back and say I am responsible for all the repairs. Really worried about that!!
Beyond that I need to figure out what to do with the tires. I didn't want to replace all 4. I went back and did more searching and found that the ideal setup is
Rear- 275/40/19 - 2207mm/703mm 729rev
Front-245/45/19 - 2209mm/703mm/ 729rev
But I think I can just replace the rears and have this setup which is better than the original...
Rear-275/35/19 -2121mm/675mm/ 759rev
Front-245/40/19 - 2132mm/679mm/ 755rev
I get the car tomorrow so I'll update with what happened, fingers crossed.
Re: CTS-V Wheels on 2012 AWD Coupe - Correct tire sizes?
Wow hope all works out with your warranty work!
That is really strange that it ran fine with slightly larger fronts for 3 years with no issues, but had an instant issue with slightly smaller fronts, especially as you point out the new setup is actually closer in size front to rear than the original V setup. Also the AWD coupe uses a slightly smaller front in its staggered setup.
I guess the take away from this is for an AWD sedan staggered setup it's better to go same or slightly bigger in the front? I wonder if this is by design as Cadillac figures some owners would not rotate tires religiously and allow rears to wear out faster than fronts?
So got car back, just had to pay for diagnostic fee. I was okay with that. I took car to tire place and replaced the rears with 275/35 and is all good again. So yes, the fronts need to be slightly larger if you go staggered on awd.
Re: CTS-V Wheels on 2012 AWD Coupe - Correct tire sizes?
This is an older forum, but I'll try.
I just bought a '13 CTS Perf. Cpe. AWD. It came with the 265x45 R and 235x50 F. I want to put all {Winter wheels and tires} 235x50's. With the stock tires having 759.6 & 763.3 revs/mile, what harm would equal tires have?
I had these on my '10 CTS Wagon AWD with great results.
There are so many great Lightweight wheels available today, I can't understand why someone would want to run a set of CTS-V wheels on a non-V car. They are great looking, but I'd rather have an ugly 18" that weighed in at <20lbs.
