    Converting 2000 STS to HID

I'm thinking of converting the headlights and foglights in my 2000 STS to the HID bulbs. I'm looking for a rough idea of cost and what the standard wattage would be vs. whats available. Has anyone done this on a 2000? If so what were your results? I'm just trying to collect all the info before I make the investment. Thanks.

Re: Converting 2000 STS to HID

    Hello,
I just had a customer install a set in his low beams on his STS and he loves them - no pictures yet. The installation is fairly easy. The fog lights may be more involved but certainly doable. 35w kits are $80 shipped within the US and 55w kits are $100 currently. You need one kit per pair of lights so two kits for low beams and fog lights.

    Regards,
    John

im considering the same in my 2000 sts. hopefully eventually high, low, and fog.

is there any modification needed for any of these in a 2000 sts?
do you have any pics of the install?

    Hello,
The installation should all be plug and play. Unfortunately I don't have any installation pictures. Someone else here on the forum may have some as I have sold a few kits to STS owners.

Feel free to email or PM me with any questions.

How long is shipping and what wattage is needed for a '99 STS for low and fogs?

Very interested in this, considering using some Christmas money for pampering my baby...

The included free shipping is via UPS Ground. I see you are in IL so I imagine 3-5 business days to get it out there. Orders are shipping within 2-3 business days right now due to such high holiday order volume.

You can use either 35w or 55w kits for the fog lights and low beams. It is really up to you. 55w kits are about 35-40% brighter than the 35w kits.

i was under the impression that 55watt fog lights would melt the lens or wiring harness

The 55w kits do run hotter but I have yet to see a fog light that they melt. That said the fogs were never designed for HIDs to begin with so this is a completely aftermarket installation.
