BCs71 called it.
I have always been amazed at those folks who think their automobiles are just like the refrigerator in the kitchen; never needing anything but fuel such as the electricity used in the icebox.
I even knew of more than one fool who NEVER changed oil, saying that he only added it when needed.

Guess what! On a cross country trip, his 2-year-old Chevy Caprice wagon blew its engine in the middle of nowhere.
>hefty towing bill
>no warranty, of course,
>huge bill for new engine and transmission (engine seized at 75mph and boiled the converter, allegedly, let alone the fact that the car was a wild handful on the Kansas Turnpike when this happened.
But Pete sold the Chevy when he and wifey got home, bought a used Chrysler Imperial (the small body) and proceeded to treat it the same way!
Some people never learn. Chrysler died within 2 years, also. Had to be towed to the junkyard since he never washed it, either. Pete grumbled about "lousy Chrysler products."
Sigh . . .
On the other side, I was the "car nut" in the office but everybody wondered why I never called in pleading car trouble as many others did come the change of seasons:
>Blown coolant hoses
>Dead battery
>Blown tire (chronic underinflation - I'd see this woman in the parking garage and mention her nearly flat tires.
She said the liked the soft ride

)
>Overheating. (stuck thermostat in 10 year old car)
. . .and on and on.
Like was said above; TAKE CARE OF YOUR CAR AND IT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU.
