I love my '70. Beautiful body and an easy car to work on. Everything in the car seems to come apart/go together easily if need be (I switched a gold brocade interior to black leather so I've removed every part in there at least once) and there aren't any of those stupid one-use plastic fastners like newer cars. Definately get the shop manual and body manual if you intend to keep the car.

The car is great to drive, super comfortable seats, and I can steer it with my pinky finger. Obviously the fuel economy isn't great, and being a '70 it has 10:1 compression so demands premium gas, but it's worth it.

    Re: 1970 DeVille convertible.

I used to own one (flat primer in the picture) and my Dad used to own one (blue metallic).

They are great cars and the 472 is a real joy to cruise with. Be careful for rust, especially in the trunk area and rockers. Make sure you check items such as the a/c, heat, and cooling system as these parts are expensive to fix/replace. Make sure it has the correct convertible top with the glass rear window and make sure the arms do not stick when the top goes down. Check for any burning smell during top operation because the switches tend to go bad. Also check for any leaks and especially for front suspension and steering wear. Last but not least, make sure you find one with good leather and dash pad because these parts are hard to replace with factory like items.

If you have any other questions, let me know!

    Goodluck,
    Elias

Unless that's a "movie front," that black convertible is GORGEOUS!

    OMG! I want that car!!!

    A black 70 drop top!!

I found a 70 silver with light gray interior vert for 7k. I think I am going to look at it this weekend.

I am sooo torn between the 65 and the 70.
