Short term 80's Brougham replacement for deville

im looking at a late 80's brougham deville for 500 bucks from chicago. Its a short term thing and i will probably end up selling it for parts when im done. Should i trust the guy for 500 bucks

Sounds good to me. I'm sure the parts are worth more than the 500 you'll spend if you get it. So you won't really lose any money. What kind of condition is it in?

The 5.0 olds motor is not a bad motor. In fact, it takes a lot to kill one. They are a bit underpowered though. Maybe your thinking of a 4.1 since that was used in front wheel and rear wheel drive cars.

They never used the 5L in FWDs.

It won't be a 4.9L since that wasn't used until the 90s. Unless someone changed it.

Prob. a 4.5 in the late 80's if it was a FWD. True, the 4.9 didn't come alive until the 1991 model year.(FWD only)

It doesn't really matter, he made it clear he doesn't want a FWD vehicle.

i already have a fwd cadillac and a rwd blazer, im a fan of rwd, more power, but bad in snow.
