Hi, I just purchased a 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham and I've searched the web for additional information on this particular model, such as recalls, reviews, and anything positive and negative pertinent to the car. I plan on getting rims (20's), a new stereo sytem, and some cosmetic work to really bring the car out. I'm a novice when it comes to cars, but wanted to know as much info about it as possible.
Thanks for anyone that can provide any information.
Also would love to talk with any big body Caddy owners (possibly Cleveland, Ohio) who have enhanced their cars, so I can get some ideals without taking away the ambiance of the Cadillac name. |

I would do 17' spokes with vogue tyres and get a decent coat of paint and you'll be riding clean. The 20's might take away from the smooth ride of your fleetwood 'lac. |

Thanks for the reply, well right before I bought the car, it was just painted, so it has a new paint job. I was reading somewhere that since the Lac is a big body car, 20's would be perfect, because smaller wheels would look retarded on such a big car and that 20's (nothing bigger) would still have a smooth ride, but if there's additional info, let me know.
Peace
Oh you right on the spokes, trying to do a 100 or more. To me spokes are the the only rims that are appropriate for such a big body car. |

So what's the biggest size could I get, without tampering the smoothness of the ride and not looking to retarded? LOL |

I rolled 20s on my car for about a month it rode just fine with no rubbing, but I dont like the big wheel look on fleetwoods, I am back to my 14s. |

I also have a '85 Fleetwood Brougham, mine has been in the family for 10 years. 1 Engine rebuild and 1 trans rebuild, regular maintaince and it has been running good. For rims I would go with 17's spokes (nothing else goes good with these Broughams). System wise find your self 2 strong ass 12's (atleast 300 - 400 watts rms) and have a port built through the rear deck. Good luck with your Caddy. |

I'm gonna go with 18's for my 95, but I'm not going with spokes, too damn hard to clean specially with a lasy bastard like me. My blue 85 had 2, 12's kicker comps. My white 85 has four rockford dual voice coil 8's in a bandpass box. They both kicked butt. Here is a pic of my blue caddy the white 85 is being taken apart so I could move everything to my 95. |

Spokes are easy to clean just get some dayton wire wheel cleaner let it set for a minute pressure wash off they will look like brand new, even removes rust on cheap wire wheels. |

Where do I get that cleaner from. I'd love to give it a try. |
