In my pursuit to buy a FWD, I have noticed a tremendous variation in prices, more than most other cars I have noticed. I can see the same FWD (like the black one I mentioned) selling for anywhere from 18 to 12. What a swing in prices! I suppose the lousy weather at least here in Va. might encourage an eager seller to drop trow more than he would care to, if he wanted to sell in the next 2 months. |

The car is worth at least 2 body parts. You could live with out one kidney and one arm is enough to drive an automatic. |

This has all the rare options.... Its got the gold trim, chrome wheels, towing package... Basically its got everything......
Not to mention the oil has been changed every 90 days (regardless of mileage), and id say 80% of the miles are on long highway trips (like florida)..... |

Besides the Brougham package, the only options I'd actually pay a little more to get are, the tow package, the sunroof, the vinyl top delete and the security package for the locking fuel door (that should have been standard). |

It's worth what someone will pay for it. I would say a heck of a lot more than what's been mentioned! I was offered $22,000 cdn. which works out to around 17,000 U.S. Pretty good for a FWD (thats front-wheen-drive!) At the time, mine was never winter driven, and that is a selling advantage. (being able to say it!) If this is your Grandpas car, tell him not to "give it away" for 10 to 12,000! Stick to 20,000, this is NOT a crazy price! Somewhere out there, someone wants that car, and they will pay what you want for it. If not, I would keep it, and the miles off it because THAT and the condition are the 2 major selling points. |

I didn't look at the pictures this time, but I'm assuming that you're referring to grandpa's car, which I've seen numerous times on your site. IF I had the space, I'd be willing to pay as high as $13,000 for one that nice.
But remember, I'm the damn fool who let a perfect '96 get away a few months ago when I probably could've had it for $10,500. |

What was the mileage on that one? If it was the one you mentioned with a couple of flaws, then you may have done the right thing by waiting for another. If you weren't sure about it, then it was the wrong one for you. IMO. Now that Jag was another story! |

The Fleetwood was perfect, it was just too damn big to be a daily driver for me, plus it wouldn't fit in my garage.
Saw the father-in-law last night. He said something about the Jag, but I didn't comment on it. He's happy with his Chrysler. They deserve each other. |

I got that! Cool! |

Its used as a second car, never even driven in the RAIN, much less snow.... Ive been under it, and there is no rust..... For some reason, there is a spot on the rear quarter panel (on the seam where the chrome meets the painted part)... WE're gonna spend good money to get that fixed....
Again, its not going to be sold...... Itll probably become mine sometime and Ill keep it in tip top shape.... |

Prices are different for different areas, and when you do a search for them on the autotrader site they're all over the place. Something around $12,000 is probably a decent price if you did want to sell the car and you really wanted to sell it. That $20,000 Ralph said IS a crazy price, but he's right that there are probably some people out there who would pay that much for it. But if you were really trying to sell it and asked that much for it you'd probably have it for sale for a while. You can buy a 2000 Lincoln Town Car with around half the milage for that price.
Being a rear wheel drive Cadillac is a big plus for it. When I was looking for my Brougham I noticed that the 1990-1996s usually cost more then a front wheel drive DeVille or Fleetwood. I guess it's probably because they sold a lot less of them then the front wheel drive ones and they are the newest big Cadillacs that you can buy. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
