Re: Paint Color Names?

I am looking at my 1991 Brougham Color Chart Brochure from Cadillac. Victorian Red is 74 (T), and they do have a Maple Red 78 (T). Yours definately looks like the Victorian Red color. JRau

Re: Paint Color Names?

Ok, here's a question. In '79 how rare was Colonial Yellow?

Re: Paint Color Names?

I don't think it was that rare, I've seen a lot of light yellow ones, but there was also the beige color, which looked very close, so probably some of them were that.

Still a very nice color very fresh looking with the matching interior.

Re: Paint Color Names?

Dopestar,

I've recently been to a Mustang show and displayed in the windshield of many of the cars was information about how many Mustangs were produced for that particular year with the color and interior color combination. For example, there were "X" number of "factory color name" red with "factory color name" white interior. That was so cool. I would love to figure out where that type of information is for my Brougham. Mine's the Antelope Firemist Metallic with the Antelope Sierra Grain leather interior.

If any one out there knows where to get this detailed information on Cadillacs, I'd love to know about it. Thanks.

JRau

Don't forget the pink Mary Kay's of the 1980's.

Hi Dave,

What were the colors for the 1978 Phaeton like you did for 1979?

Best Regards,

Re: Paint Color Names?

Hi,

I can't find the 1978 info right now. There are a couple of Phaeton fanatics on this forum who may know the answer such as Benzilla who has a 1979 Phaeton and he is very interested in them. From memory, I seem to remember the 1978 model was only available in one color combination and I'm thinking it was white with black or possibly blue top. Who knows for sure?

Dave

Re: Paint Color Names?

The 1978 colors were white with dark blue top and white leather (same as the '79 white) Platinum metallic with black top, red pinstripe, and light grey interior( I know a guy that has one... drool). And finally, Arizona Beige with dark brown roof and beige interior. (very rare).

hold on, I'm uploading pictures!

Cotillion White

Platinum Metallic

Arizona Beige

Re: Paint Color Names?

Very, very nice! Was the Phaeton available as a sedan in 1978 or only a coupe?

Re: Paint Color Names?

It was also available as a sedan, but there was around 225 1978 Phaetons all together, so you almost never see '78 Sedans. I've seen a few '79s though.
