I wouldn't bat an eye at the milage, as Jay says, either the car checks out, or not.

How many guy here with "low mileage originals" do you think were actually sold a turned over car?

As to price, I have no idea what a fair price on it would be in Germany. Here, it would have to be exceptional in every way to be worth that.
But find one here for the $4000 and ship it? It has to have some value to have the car where you can see and inspect the car.

I agree that mileage is far less important than condition on these cars. There are two 75-76 CDVs listed on the LA Craigslist that have far less mileage than this brown one but are thoroughly thrashed. It looks to be a solid, well cared for, lightly used driver quality car. Have it professionally inspected and if it checks out and you want it, make a fair offer.

    That's what I'm thinking of.

Here's two companies that offer inspections. Thoughts on which one to prefer?

There's not really a market for these cars in Germany. There might 15 or so Coupe de Villes for sale in Germany and perhaps 20 people wanting to buy such a car here. US-car fans here usually want muscle cars (Trans Am, Charger, Challenger) and are willing to pay many Euros even for a ton of junk. The huge landyachts catch a lot of attention here, but they are a rare sight.

Iīm following this thread with big interest. I just recently imported my 96 from Jacksonville to Sweden. Have you checked www.blocket.se and www.usabil.nu? As you might know Sweden has a huge market for classic US cars.

You know, what's funny? Just 15 minutes ago a German Lincoln guy sent me a link to this georgeous 76 CDV in Sweden:
    http://www.blocket.se/lund/Cadillac_....htm?ca=11&w=3

139,000 swedish crowns = 15,200 EUR. Are you swedish? Do you live in Sweden? Do you speak swedish?

Wow, that is a gorgeous car!
I like the look of the engine compartment, looks "honest" in it's wear and condition.

it is fantastic, but just too expensive. 15,000 Euros are $20,000.

I talked to the dealer. He won't sell for less.

Too bad! Here are a few links to other US Classic car dealers in Sweden. Most of these you probably wonīt find at blocket or usabil. Maybe worth to take a look. http://www.usabil.nu/lankar/lankar50.asp Still Blocket is where you mostly find the cars.

Thanks Mattia, but since I'm not from Sweden, this is not going to be my primary source of research. But if you know of a beautiful Coupe de Ville - please post it here.

A little off topic, since this is a 1974 Coupe de Ville, but the car (located in Austria) and the 64 pictures are stunning. And it's for sale. But the price is as breathtaking as the car.

BTW: I ditched the brown 1976 CDV above since the seller is unwilling or unable to provide the information I need. But no big deal, I'll find a beautiful CDV, and if it takes a year - no problem.

Sure I will let you know. Íīm searching for cars all the time. I experienced that even in USA it can take some time to find the perfect car. I imported one 1994 Lt1 Caprice, a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass SX 455 convertible and the Fleetwood.
