Brougham windows plunging forward into door

Guys, both my front windows fall down into the door when I try to slide them down. The rubber is dried up and has cracked so it won't hold the windows back from falling forward.

Does anybody have a simple cheap solution to this? All suggestions appreciated.

    Richard

Does the rear side of the glass have a hole in it? If so, you need a set of window glides. I bought some last month for about $7, just snaps on and slide window into frame.

    I
would recommend reading all the replies and choosing your own repair strategy. Those replacement rollers/guides are quite expensive. Rockauto is probably the best place to get them. The other doors will follow. so get extra parts and keep them in your glovebox.

Great! Thanks guys! (It's not the plastic on the window that has broken but the guides in the door that have dried up.)

The guides are metal. Just give them a little spray grease after you fix the broken slider with a roller.

Hate to necro, but I'm needing a set of the window glides for a 88 Brougham, where would I order these?

My driver's window on my 91 brougham too far down. My three year old temporary solution is a specially modified hotdog cooking stick that I use to nudge it back up until it starts to roll up. Is the above the same fix?

Did it come in a package with other sizes? If it did, it might be the wrong size.

Re: Brougham windows plunging forward into door

was 2 types, one type with these flanges that lock the window in the channel, and one without

i discovered that the bottom of the window channel had warped and was causing the window to jump out when lowered, bent it back to mostly straight, no problems since.
