    Picked up my 1990 yesterday.

This was an eventfull day. The car isn't perfect but is in very good condition. The paint, gray, is faded o the upper portion of the car. The soft top could use a dye job. Only functionality issues are the washer pump, motor is only 4 years old, and the right front power seat switch is BURNT up. In search of on now. The ANTI-LOCK light came on later in the day, any suggestions on what could cause this??
    Thanks. SL.

Re: Picked up my 1990 yesterday.

I wasn't aware the 1990 model had Anti-lock brakes. Not sure what could be causing it. Could just be a sensor with an open circuit or something, probably best to get it up on a lift and have someone look at it. Although it could be that a caliper has frozen up if the car sat for a while.

If you're looking to dye the top, allow me to suggest SEM color coat. It comes in a variety of aerosol spray cans, and bonds very well with the existing vinyl roof, protecting it from degrading or cracking, and it ends up looking very nice. I learned about this a little too late with my 89 Brougham. Apply some 303 Aerospace Protectant on a semi-regular basis(easily the best vinyl protector and conditioner I've ever used) and the top will be in good shape for a long time to come.

Re: Picked up my 1990 yesterday.

I use the SEM vinyl prep. The auto paint shop has mixed dye for me on the past and have hit it on the head. It would be easier & cheaper to buy in an aerosol can. Going to pull the codes out of it tonight. Had the car on a lift when I picked it up. He wanted $5300, I offered $4k, with a trans flush & filter service, before I arrived. Ended up at $3900. I hope I didn't get hurt.

You can pull your senors, inspect the wiring and clean them up for the anti lock. I don't know how the 90's system is set up but on my 95 the light is always on because one of the wires to the rear wheel sensor is loose. I don't care about it, though. I never had anti lock on any of my vehicles so I'm not missing it.

Try Rockauto.com for the seat Switch. They have quite a wild amount of parts available for these there.

Black walls make no sense to me on a car like this.

The first 45 miles have been good so far. Would've really liked to have put michelins but no white wall.
