I don't think it's been established if it can be done in any cars that don't already have it. Let's hope so though!

That hasn't been proven yet.... I would think it'd be more possible with the 80's Broughams than the 90's ones. I think it's possible. I'm sure there's a way to rig it to the ECM through the OBD system.

So if you manage it in the 89 I might still not be able to do it in the 92? Damn. I was going to have the sexy female voice say "Nice going big boy" when I get really good gas mileage. DAMN!

No no. I didn't really mean what I typed. I meant that I have a nice spot to mount it because that square I posted a pic of was where it used to be back in 81-85. I beloeve in 77-80 there was either a rear defogger power switch there or a power antenna switch, I've seen both. in 81 it was a more detailed display because with the V8-6-4 it also showed how many cylinders were active at the time. I'm just unsure where you could put it in a 92.

I'm still trying to figure out if that thing is standalone (data inputs are fed into it, and it calculates the MPG) or if its just a remote display.... If its just a remote display, wonder if we can make it a gauge or something.

Has anyone come up with an answer to this question in the last 9 years?

haha I've been wondering the same thing. I'm interested in doing this swap also. From what i've read online it's just calculated by the injector pulsewidth so I don't know if some parts tie into the injector wiring or not. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this thing?

    Re: MPG computer for Brougham

I picked one up at the yard from a 4100 and thought the same as on of the posts in this thread that the OBD port right under the dash might contain the wires to tap into to get it operational.

We need a Cadillac wiring geek and an HT4100 wiring diagram.

If I come across another 4100 at the yard I am going to try to trace the wires back to see where they go. Did you grab a wiring harness for yours? How many wires were coming off of the back of it?
