    Right turn signal wont cancel

Working on my parents 1990 Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance. The right turn signal won't cancel.

Removed wheel and everything down to the switch. Switch looks ok (I had replaced it a couple years ago) but I decided to replace it anyway..thinking maybe weak spring.

Tested it on with the front end in the air and seemed to work ok. Reassemble the whole column and go to road test and right turn still won't cancel. Left works just like it should.

    Any thoughts?

You have a broken turn signal spring, or, it has popped out of it's holder. There are two different springs. You can see one red one in this pic, and a bit of the other one at the top.

    Here's how to replace them:

Thanks but the springs are good....in fact, it's a brand new switch assembly but the old one didn't have broke or worn springs either. I'm going to pull it down tomorrow...I'm thinking it may be a worn horn contact/cancel assy....which of course is discontinued.

Is the steering wheel centered as you drive straight on a level road? Never seen a worn cancelling cam so worn to cause this. Have seen springs missing, broken and steering wheel off center many times.
