Owner of 77 Green contacted me yesterday and said deal fell through with buyer from Texas. I scheduled today at 11 AM to go look at car. And I just called to confirm appointment and seller now tells me he sold it again to previous guy's brother from texas. Car will be going to Bangor, PA. I am really disappointed I tried for 3 weeks to schedule inspecting and driving this care, although seller apologized now twice to me, I feel somewhat abused as a prospective buyer. I rearranged my schedule today to go down there and have pretty much wasted a day that could have been more productive in many ways. Live and learn.

Re: WTB 1977 to 1984 Cadillac Factory Fleetwood Limousine

Regarding the 1980 Cadillac Fleetwood Limousine, I realize the engine is a 368 carb with a little less power than a 425. What about the climate control, did it retain the same system as the 77-79? Or was this the first year for the new electronic climate controls found in the 81-84? Knowing the answer to this is important to me should a find a 1980. As always your comments are appreciated.

I don't have the answer to either of those questions, but I will say I think you are way too obsessed with a fear of climate control problems.
As someone who has a 1987 with a currently non-functioning climate control I urge you not to pass up a wonderful car for fear of a relatively easy system to maintain. Please remember that the system was used on millions of GM vehicles, while problems are common, they are not that difficult to fix and no reason to exclude a whole range of great cars.

The 1980 had the same climate control as the 1977-79. The 1981-84 had the electronic climate control.

I agree with Dave above that I would not exclude the 1981-84 models just because of the electronics. They can simply be a little more to work to figure out when things go haywire. The 1977-80 models are old school simple which I personally feel more comfortable with since I use my 79 as daily transportation. If the right early 80's Cadillac presented itself and I happened to be in the market I would certainly enthusiastically grab it and enjoy driving the wheels off of it.

With a 454 under the hood, I bet its fun to drive And it is cheap and looks decent.
I would have to do something with the underdash rally pack though.
And how could they put a 1973 454 in it? I though CA wouldn't let you put an older/ not stock engine in a car.

Yeah the under dash crap would have to go unless it has some real purpose.
I bet it has a similar configuration to the stock engine so he got away with it. Maybe livery standards are different......

I emailed the Napa County seller a few times and never rec'd a response.

    ----------

Interior Color and Carpeting. If the interior on 77-84 is blue in color wouldn't the carpeting be the same color? Or were all black carpet?

Two blues, though. The early dark blue, and the later light blue.

Early dark blue interior with a later light blue dash.

I hate when the sellers do that. Do they want to seel it or what?!
I'll see if I can contact him. Any particular questions you want answered?

It appears he wants to be contacted only by phone--408-836-0936.
