1980 Coupe deville lsx swap questions?

So I have been building a 5.3 truck motor for some time now, ported heads, tr220 cam, pac springs, ls1 intake manifold, gathered a gt45 t4 turbo along with supporting components.

My cadi is currently on air ride, I am not sure if you guys remember me posting.

I did the top end in the car not too long ago but I am not a fan of the 368 at all, nor am I fan of old design SBC motors. So I want to put my 5.3 in the car, already have a stand alone harness made and ready (this will also allow me to upgrade the alternator , I was having an issue with factory alt running the two compressors for the air ride) , I would also like to end up turbo charging it and placing a 4l80e behind it with its own stand alone programmer.

I know, air ride, lots of horsepower, no traction, whats the point? The car to me is so much different than everything around here and looks sinister as hell laid out. I am just going for wow factory! its my baby.

So basically here are my questions.

Is this car a c body or b body or what? What chevrolets/buicks/etc share the same motor mount (frame side) etc as my coupe deville, so I can start researching how I am going to mount it etc.

Also , what rear end is in my car and do you think I should upgrade to something different? Any larger brake upgrades for this car (lots of power, need to stop!) I am running 17 inch wheels).

Anyways sorry for the rant or whatever but I am just about ready to have this thing put in and want to cover every basis.

The 90-96 cadillac brougham or box/bubble caprice would be your best bet for a motor mount. I'd like the gear you have in the rear end personally but you may want better gas mileage. It's strong enough to handle the power but not much available for upgrades. Pictures?

Ok well thanks for the heads up on everything. I would prefer a taller ratio in the rear (turbos like engine load, faster spool with a taller gear than shorter) if mine is short.

Here are some pics for ya.

54k original miles, paints faded and discolored but the car is clean clean clean as far as rot goes, any rust on it can be wiped off with the exception of the stain under the pass rear window.

It's a C body, renamed D body (long wheelbase B body) in the late 80s. Buy LS mounts for a 77-96 Caprice/94-96 Impala SS.

MIght be wrong but aren't these mounts made for the Chevy engines? I thought the Olds mounts were different.

By the way nice wheels on that Caddy. Thats exactly the kind of wheels I`d like to put on mine too, maybe d-windows instead of the round holes. Won't happen soon though...

You'd be building the car of my dreams, only missing a stick shift.

Thanks man! They are 17 inch cragar soft 8s, scored them at a swap meet for 40 bucks with tires. The rears are pretty wide to 275's lol. The car needs some very little massaging in certain areas. Its my RAT ROD! , I know the car deserves a paint job and whatnot but leaving it in its original state is just so much more badass to me!

I think you will need an external or in tank pump.

I'll figure it out I got all my tubing for the hot side of the turbo kit ready and flanges as well.

Use a 94-96 Fleetwood plastic fuel tank, with the factory sender, and swap in the higher pressure LS pump. Bolt in, factory solution,

If you're going to be running a turbo, you're going to need more than what a factory fuel pump can provide. I don't know much about 80's cadillac fuel setups, but depending on your power goals, you'll likely need an in-tank setup with aftermarket units. Aeromotive has an array of products to get you where you need to be. Giving their sales team a call would be my advice. Tips for getting crafty with installs can be found with some searching.

I know all this, I just do not what provisions are provided for these cars. I know how much fuel I will need etc. Just didn't know if there were options such as the fuel tank upgrade posted above!

That's what I did on mine and this is what I was going to recommend. But as it was said, with a turbo you'll need more flow. Some people modify the tank to put 2 pumps inside.

I believe Racetronix makes a high volume pump that will go in the stock sender.
