Cool Insight needed, swap 1973 to 1970

7009776821_3f87ce2488_z.jpgI'm hoping I can get some input, any and all replys are appreciated. I own a 73' Deville 4 door hardtop and would like to put the 70's grille, bumper, and headlights on it. I love my 73' and put some serious time and money in it, but really like the front of the 70's Deville. I've asked around and searched the internet but haven't had any luck. Can it be done without MAJOR modification?? Any insight to exactly what would be involved and how complicated it would be?9.jpg
I've attached 2 pics of each year for illustration purposes. Also the cars in the pics are NOT mine, I downloaded them from google search.

The front of the fenders on the 70 are part of the overall look of the front end. It would take some serious artistic talent to recreate that part. If you just french the headlights and grill in there, you will have to figure out where to put the blinkers. I would say it isn't possible without a lot of money and talent. I'd say the 73 front end looks nice enough anyway.

Without MAJOR work? Not possible. The whole car was completely redesigned for the 1971 MY, including the frame. The only thing the cars share is the drivetrain. Everything else is totally different. The 73 is also wider than the 70, so you'll have to figure out how to fill the extra space. If you like the 70 front end, buy a 70.

I agree. Buy a 70 to keep your 73 company. It will be eaier to have both than to butcher your 73.

French??? You must mean mickey mouse it on. Not possible. In addition to what's noted, the 1973s have that isolated bumper, etc. Not going to work.
