    Plugs and Wires

I have been having some problems with the torque converter not locking up, or when it is locking up the engine is misfiring (we think) I have another post started problems at highway speeds. What kind of plugs and wires are the best for my 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brogham with the TBI 5.7 engine. Thank you

I use AC Delco. Mis-firing shouldn't have anything to do with the TC.

I have had a misfire feel like it was the transmission... I would change the plugs and wires with what was stock in that car... Some parts guys thy to tell you that THESE plus are better, some maybe are, but by sticking with stock your not adding to your problems..

I am going to try the plugs and wires before the transmission solenoid, that will be the easier fix to try first.

MSD makes the best spark plug wires but you have to order them. If you want to get them from the parts store, try to get AC Delco or at least something with lifetime warranty.

A/C Delco!!! When a torque converter locks up there is no slippage or cushion between the engine and transmission so IF there is a bad plug or wire, you will feel it! I've had a cracked insulator on a plug cause a jerkiness once in lockup. Found it while replacing all the plugs.
