Note that the 77-79 wire wheels are different than the 80-92 wire wheels. The early ones have a hex shaped center cap with a black insert.

It will be the same color Arizona Fire Mist? The birds got to the paint on the hood and it does need a new coat!
The body shop which is literally next door has had it for over a year..
he is supposed to fit me in when they are not busy but I guess business is picking up.
I am driving my 75 Rag Top Lesabre for the next while so I am not too grumpy but he needs to get started soon.
There were 2 really nice DeVilles for sale here both around 3K, one had 30K original miles and the other 60K so I don't want to pay 8K for a paint job when it equals 2 nice cars!
Back to the Phaeton, I have collected most of the parts, a newish grill, passenger headlight bezel and rear center bumper with fillers.
I just need a door pull cover and a couple of other bits and pieces.
Thanks for the tip on the true spoke wire wheels. Would the correct center caps be available? He is holding on his price and I am close but haven't pulled the trigger yet

Yes it's the same color as Bens' car but it's an early 79 with no opera lights

Well mine is, Ben said that the early ones didn't come with opera lights so I'll take his word for it!
On the true spoke wheel front, I have come across a set of correct 77-79 ones with the hex black cap.
The good news is they are asking a lot less than the other ones...
Will try to buy them this weekend.
Now if I could just find a red tilt steering wheel for a 71-76 Deville and a door pull cover for my phaeton everything would be peachy!

I have heard the 78-79 Cadillac wire wheels require tubes in the tires?!? If so, what is this all about?

I don't know, in the add the guy has them pictured on a Seville and he is a little slow to respond to emails but I will go look at them Saturday and check
them out. I will ask him about the inner tubes.
P.S. Sorry to Ben for hijacking his thread........

Don't worry. He's not using it at the moment.

I don't recall any of my 77's having Opera lights, I'm sure my 78 Fleetwood Brougham had them where the 78 SDV did not. My 79 SDV had them, my 80 did not.

I believe Opera lights were included with a certain option package.

The opera light discussion in this thread is specifically regarding early 1979 Phaeton models reportedly not having opera lights while they were apparently added at some point in the 1979 model year production and are pictured on Phaeton models in the 1979 sales literature.

Opera lights were a stand alone option or they came with the d'Elegance package. I do not recall them being a part of the Phaeton package.

The 79 came with flush mount opera lights.

You are dragging this Phaeton thread into the weeds with your lack of attention, plus your statements are either incorrect or half right. Hopefully this thread will get back to the Phaeton without being an education on opera light model and year availability on non Phaeton models.
