    Limo/Hearse Lug Nut Specs?

I can't find it in my manual. I know the limos and hearses had bigger studs and they were standard (versus metric on the "regular" Fleetwoods). I need to order some lug nuts for my new wheels but I don't know what size. Does anyone know?

Yep. I know purists don't like big wheels on these cars, but I've always been a sucker for the 5-spoke, TorqueThrust look. So I got black 5-spokes with a polished rim. I ordered a pair of 20s for now. I want to see how they look up front (I know they look cool tucked up in the back). If I don't like them up front, I'm going to snag 18s for the front. If I do like them I'll grab another pair of 20s.

That's the bolt circle, not the lug spec.

TJ, just order lug nuts for an earlier Cadillac. Mid 80s should do it. Check one first, of course. You can probably find the spec on rockauto.

Thanks. Just about everywhere I look lists 1/2" x 20 thread pitch for Fleetwoods from the 60s through the present. I know that's not right for '93-96 but I think I have my answer.

    Re: Limo/Hearse Lug Nut Specs?

I'm obviously going to put tires on them, but I test fit one rim on the front and back:

I like the 20" in the back. Still on the fence as to whether to go 18" up front. Opinions (about the size - I know a lot of people don't like the 338s but I do)?

Also, while underneath it I spotted this:

I was wondering whose resonator that was along the road by my house. I know exactly when it fell off, too, I just didn't know what that bang/clunk was. I thought I hit something. It's not really any louder so I didn't notice.

20s all the way around. Or, 18s all the way. 20s will likely be cheaper for tires.

Thanks. I was kind of leaning that way anyway. Ride might be a little harsh until I can get the bags installed, particularly in the rear. That's next on the to-do list...

I like the 20s all around also. Looks good on both ends to me.

That will look great! Love the basic black 5 spoke design! Perfect for that car. Might be worth the extra money for 18's all around.

Tyga say's;"...too much rim make the ride too hard..."

As to seeing your resonator on the road and wondering who's it was....Priceless...

Thanks. I'm putting bags in the back which should soften things up a bit. The front is more complicated and will have to wait.

The resonator is funny. When I saw it in the road I thought it was a small muffler (which I guess is what it is) and thought how bad it would be if someone had actually run it over. I didn't put it all together until today when I got under the car and saw the resonator was missing. Funny thing is that the little tailpipe is still hanging there. I like to think I'm fairly observant, but how does something like that happen without some sort of warning (like dragging or hanging down) first?

I want to put an Impala SS system on it, but the budget is currently consumed by rims, tires and suspension. Maybe in the Spring....

    Re: Limo/Hearse Lug Nut Specs?

Well, I chickened out. I sold the rims and tires to my brother for his Roadmaster wagon. I was really worried about the load rating of the wheels, which I should have looked into further before I bought them. It's 1,580 per wheel. The limo weighs 6,000 lbs with no one in it. Weight distribution is 60/40 (rear/front) putting the rear wheels over capacity from the get go. Then you put 9 people in the car....

The only other wheels I can find with a 2,000 lb. + rating are very truck-ish.

I think they'd look better on the limo, but they do look nice on the wagon.

    Re: Limo/Hearse Lug Nut Specs?

I never even thought about that! Probably a good idea.
I'm sure their lawyers make them be conservative with the ratings, but no need to test that theory!

Too bad, they would have been great.
