Help to ID a vacuum line on 68 Deville

    HI all.

I have been troubleshooting the AC this week.

Went from nothing to now have air and heat!

There is a line that is coming out of the firewall, Driver's side along with 5-6 others that is not connected to anything (engine side).

Before you ask...I do have the manual and the 68 vacuum diagram

The first issue is that I cannot tell if it is "tan" or "yellow".

Second is that I cannot see where there is any open port to where it should go.

Third, I am assuming this is going to the AC control but no 100% positive.

    Any assistance would be great.

    Thanks
    Jason

    I found it..

    Idle Up Valve.

    Mine was not hooked up

My 68 has all of its vacuum hoses in tact. I will be pulling out of storage soon, and will let you know what those hoses are for, unless you find out sooner.

Thanks. I have 4 lines hanging down with screws blocking the ends. God knows where they go.

I believe they are 1/4" hose lines in that area. Others are bigger.

I found the issue. I had another more detailed Vacuum layout that showed what actually came through the cowl.

On a down side, the idiots who replaced the carb prior to me getting the car bought one without an idle up valve i.e. for a non AC caddy.

    So, that function is gone.

Oh well. Air works well now and thankfully. A little warm and humid here these days.

The ony you're holding may go to the water shut-off valve for the heater core. I have a 70 and the one that is that color goes to the heater valve.
