So you put a '94 PCM in a '96 Fleetwood? And it works?

The 96 OBD2 PCM is a completly different part number than the 8051 OBD1 PCM used in the 94-95 B/D cars. You need a 96 PCM.

    Re: Obdi or obdii ?

The OBD1 PCM is different, even if flashed. It uses a different chip set, and looks for different resistance on the knock sensors. You need a 96 PCM in a 96 (and a 94/5 in a 94/5).

I agree with Jay, it makes no sense to do that. The 96 is made to run on an OBDII.

No I am Batman. I have been seen in the same room as Batman---because I was smart enough to use Alfred as a decoy.

    ----------

This guy told me to use the ccm because i was going to use the 94 steering column with the 94 original key, does this makes sense to you guys, i had to bypass the column but it starts up

    Re: Obdi or obdii ?

That makes more sense. I *think* the CCM is the same. If you've bypassed the PASS KEY system, and it works, why mess with the CCM now?

    Re: Obdi or obdii ?

It doesn't matter. Only OBD-II powertrain codes are reported on the '96 and accessed via the OBD-II port. Body codes are the old style, like on the earlier years and can be accessed through the HVAC module.
