    transmission lines 1989 brougham with 5.0 liter

    Hi i am new to this site.and the world of cadillac. i was wondering if anyone has replaced the transmission lines before. my cadillac needed the water pump replaced.so i hired omeone.he was a rammy guy and crossthread my top line.now my caddy leaks a river.i would like to know how much it cost in cdn funds and did gm double flare the ends or do they still have a rubber o-ring

    They are double flare like brake lines. If the fitting on the line is cross threaded, all you have to do is buy a small section of pre-flare brake line. Use a tubing cutter, cut it in half. Cut the end off your old line. Use good high quality rubber transmission line and clamps to connect the new section to the original lines. If the fitting in the rad is cross threaded, use a tap packed with grease to recut the threads.
