1988 Brougham won't shift into OD

I just had my engine rebuilt and now my transmission won't shift into OD. I've tried Googling it, but I just get a bunch of unrelated stuff.
    Stock Olds 307 and transmission.
    Any ideas?

Was it working before the rebuild? I think its controlled by the wiring harness that plugs into it.

Is the TV cable connected to the carb? This trans has overdrive as well as a lock up torque converter. Overdrive is 4th gear meaning you should feel three shifts on light acceleration. Then a slight bump as the t/converter locks up.

Sam, the wires control the TC lockup.

According to the symptoms of one not working (thanks to this forum I just found it on Google), no, it wasn't. The car would stall when coming to a stop sometimes. It's still doing that.

Sounds like your TC solenoid. It's a cheap part but a not cheap (relative to the part cost) repair.
