My coupe, she's tottaly stripped and naked!

I had the car taken down to bare metal for paint. I'm getting it painted "Thume Green Firemist" with white pinstriping.
Not sure if it is the original color it came with, but I really liked the sample and decided to go with it.
It should be done in a week, I'll make sure to get pictures up.
I can't wait to get her back, and put it all together.
    Thanks all,
    Tom.

I took all the parts off the car and sent it in. I'm no bodyman, but I keep reading about it and might start practicing one day.

Is it cheaper if you strip all the trip and interior yourself? If so how much a percentage does it take off the paint job vs just tropping it off (I rfealize every case is different but always was curios about this. are you also restoring or replacing the trim and fillers?

I can't wait to see her all done up.

I'm going to polish up all the trim, and am replacing the fillers. I read somewhere that pulling all the trim and everything off the car will save a thousand bucks in labor. But for a sand and spray paint job it wouldn't save much because masking it all isn't that big of a deal to them.

Take that vinyl off and get it redone while you're at it!

    This....for 2 reasons
    1. The vinyl will look ratty with new paint
    2. Get rid of any possible rust hiding under the top.

Absolutely, especially with a white top. You will never get that old white top as spiffy and clean as it was 35 years ago. Congrats on getting it done, just in time for you to cruise in style for the summer!

I have have heard that replacing the vinyl is surprisingly affordable, like $300-$600.

The results will be much better without the trim on. Did you sand blast the body?

I hope that's not a white top because it looks pretty tan to me. This would be the time to do it while everything else is stripped off. I hope you get to enjoy it this summer.

Wow! What fun! Good luck and I love that you are going with the 70's color, totally classic!

Get that vinyl top replaced before you get it painted. You don't want glue all over the new paint!
