| Re: 1962 Cadillac SERIES 62 vin Top of frame rail or cross member driver's side of radiator. It's simply stamped into the metal so often dirt or rust can obscure it. Try some Gumout and a good bright light like one of the 100 bazillion candle-power jobs. Otherwise, left side of the engine block right about the drainpan roughly halfway between the front and back (the gumout) unless the engine has been switched. The format is generally "62F112411" Year, model, serial. The plate on the cowl usually doesn't have the VIN. VIN's weren't the big then like they are today; kind of like locking steering wheels, locking gear shifts, locking hoods you get the idea. |
