    What is a 462 from?
    For a trans for a 500, you would need a turbo 400 or 4l80e with a controller

If you can afford it, a 4L80e w/controller would be great behind a 472/500. No need to change the radiator unless yours is corroded or you plan on running ac a lot.

A 77, 78 or 79 donor car would be the way to go. Otherwise there are a lot of $ needed.

If I had a 307 car I would consider an Olds 403 and Grand National guts in the 200-4R.

The entire job depends on what parts are available at reasonable cost.

I agree with Ape Man. Go with the 403. This way all of the 307 parts will bolt up for the swap. The 200-4R should be able to handle the 403 if you build it up a little. Those 403's are quick. I'd almost say they were faster than 77-79 cadillacs with a 425. I used to race around with my buddy who had a 77 buick electra w/403 and he could smoke my 78 fleetwood w/425. He got better gas mileage too haha.

A 403 would be awesome but I haven't seen one for sale for a long time.

I've seen a few cars with it for sale, but they're usually too nice/ expensive to be an engine donor or so beat down that I wouldn't trust the engine.

The price of scrap metal has made a lot of donor parts get melted down.
