I would use the regular mounts. No write ups but its no fun, gotta get to the bolts from the hole in the side of the crossmember.

What happened to the mounts? I've been abusing these for years and have not had a failure.

I would bet any rubber aftermarket mount would be stronger than any 4100 engine!!!

My motor mounts are OEM. They are 30 years old. My mechanic said one of the mounts will need to be replace. Luckily the other is still in good
condition. I might just change both if I replace one. again any write ups and parts recommendation. I do prefer getting them from my local auto parts if thats o.k

The frame side of the mount which contains the rubber is identical to 77 and up RWD Deville/Fleetwood.

Unless there was an underhood fire I still find it difficult to believe anything would have failed.

Oil leaking on the rubber tends to degrade it. Might be what the mechanic is talking about.

    Cheers.......R.

True but HT-4100s don't last long enough to develop oil leaks. They are also an exceptionally oil leak free design. Coolant is another story : (

Cant believe I actually found a pic with an arrow. The arrow shows the hole I had to go through to reach the bolt. The yellow zipties are how I held the bolts up during the process.

glad to hear your engine is still running strong, gives me hope that mine with 30,000 original miles has a chance. Sorry I can't help with the motor mount question or pictures.

I dont think anybody has a write up. Basicly you take both motor mount bolts out and lift the motor with a jack or engine hoist and get the bolts out.
