    Check Engine P0412

Hey guys, I recently replaced stock air box with intake kit in my 1996 Fleetwood Brougham. I drove it around for awhile and it gave me check engine light with code P0410. I did the AIR pump disable procedure and still check engine light. Checked the codes again and came up with P0410 and P0412. I erased the codes and drove around for about 40 minutes with no light and then it came back on again. This time it is just the P0412. Anyone know how I can prevent this code from appearing?

On the 96, you must reprogram the PCM to remove the AIR code.

Gotcha, I'm guessing I have to take to performance shop to have that done?

Actually, a dealer can do it. There is a TSB on it. You can also do it yourself, but you'll need a special cable and software. Alternatively, you can get a PCM tuner to take care of it.
