I think I would order one from GM, with the track record of this part, wherever you bought it, is not good.

I appreciate your updates on this topic therefore this could help anyone having similar problems with their cars . I think it's not something you hear everyday that brand new part is blame for it

Re: 1993 Fleetwood will not start

After getting the car crank I drove it work, I was on half of a tank when I left the house three miles later the fuel meter read I was on empty. What could make the car burn so much gas so quickly? Please help cause i don't know, was I suppose to set the timing on the distrubtor after removing it to replace ignition module??.i

These cars have a very well documented problem with their fuel guages. don't believe them.

I agree these fuel gagues can fail at any time.. What I always do is fill up the tank and set the trip odometer and don't go over 350 miles without filling it back up...

Re: 1993 Fleetwood will not start

Is that's the only thing that could be wrong ? I stop at a gas station and put 15 dollars in it and the fuel gate went from empty to a little over a quarter of a tank? How can I find out hats wrong? Should I drive it on empty for a while till it run out ? Is there anything else that can cause it to burn gas that fast?

Fill it up and drive until it shows half. Then fill it up again. Anything over 11.5 gallons to fill and your fuel gauge is lying to you.

It's the sender that gets deteroriated, especially if high sulfer fuel was ever used.

Someone posted this a long time ago:
All the bars = half a tank
Half the bars = 5 gallons
    3 bars = you're walking.

Could it be a bad float in the tank

Re: 1993 Fleetwood will not start

the problem with these (as documented by someone here a while back) is with the sender. There's some kind of "float sensor" for lack of better term that wears out over time. Someone fixed it by soldering it back up (some pics were posted) and they said that worked. Others have just replaced their sender unit and that worked for them too.

Either way, to fix it you have to drop the tank.
