These photos will be useful after I get to put my engine in my car though.
No one got a fake dual exhaust with their Vin 9

And while we're at it, I want a dual air snorkel and some lightning rods on my Vin 9.
WTF Cadillac...I feel so gypped. I bought a slightly more powerful motor and I don't get all the cool things that let me know I have a slightly more powerful motor.

I know. That is why I called Shenanigans on that statement. Lightning Rods and Dual Snorkel...no. That would be an abomination.

I don't know about the other VIN-Niners, but my car came with PLENTY of badass extra features, even if they weren't exactly to let me know it had a slightly-more-powerful motor and were actually just part of the "extended cab" variant of the car.

Anyone ever seen electronic exhaust cutouts installed in a vintage Cadillac?

You plan on running them? I have some manual cutouts but I want to get the motors to put on them.

Seriously contemplating it. Discussed it with a few Forum members in the past, even before ever acquiring my engine. They're not really that expensive and I think a noisy Cadillac could be fun at times. Just need to find where best to mount them. I've seen plenty of non-electric ones that were controlled manually though. Just not normally on Cadillacs.

Still though, exhaust comes last, so I have plenty of time to map it all out in my head. Need my Rearend and transmission.

Like I posted previously about the universal kits made by G-Force:
    http://www.crossmembers.com/shop/cro...-c-1_2_15.html

Maybe you can convince them to make one from a pattern of the old cross-member since they do make one's for other popular cars.

They look well build and this company is a dealer as is Summit Racing:

I wonder how close the 76 DeVille crossmember would be to fit our cars?

Maybe try Hemmings Motor News. I just picked up a copy yesterday and will post back if I see anything for our Broughams.

Ya Ive seen that G-Force site.....they have some nice looking mounts. Too bad there's nothing available pre-fabbed for the broughams. I doubt that deville one will work.... I understand the frames changed in 1977. Could be wrong........

Given the width differences, I'd say the frame got narrower from 76 to 77

Re: 1990 Brougham 5.7 dual exhaust

Was the platform of the 90-92 Brougham similar to the same year Impala or Buick Roadmaster Sedan or Wagon?

Did they come with duel exhausts and I wonder if that cross-member would fit???????

    Just throwing that out there.

By the way, I always like to post intrigueing stuff. I'll try posting some links soon, but do a internet search of: "David Vizard Zero Loss Exhaust". Or, "David Vizard No Loss Exhaust" or "David Vizard Auto Exhaust Science"

In case others do not know who he is, he is probably the smartest automotive technical journalist and has written many books sold through SA Books, I think, and has written many of the tech articles in the major car magazines. This guy knows what he's talking about.

The Vizard No Loss Exhaust is basically a calculated open air chamber that sits behind the header that he calls an "expansion box" or "pressure wave termination box". In the articles you will see a system for a C4 LT1 Vette that he built and advocates Dynomax mufflers since they are the only ones in the industry who provide CFM flow to further calculate into a given system. Kind of complex formula's for an exhaust build, but very doable.

Here's a few links and there are a few of the same articles floating around and changed slightly from publication to publication from what I remember:

    https://www.google.com/search?q=davi...hrome&ie=UTF-8

The one diagram is very bad in the magazine article, but has been used in other articles. So keep looking.

Here is the article again but missing pg. 5. Click on pg. 1-10 and click on the photo to enlarge:

A roadmaster/ impala crossmember will fit, and the passenger side frame rail bracket should be in the correct position too

Did either the Roadmaster/Impala come with duel exhausts? If so, then that should solve it!

Re: 1990 Brougham 5.7 dual exhaust

When I was at the junk yard last year I came across a dual hump cross member from a ford (cop car?) and I was thinking that could be adapted to a GM car quite easily. That's as far as I took it but I think there may be a possibility there.
