    The Allante pictures I promised.

    212billmiller017.jpg212billmiller018.jpg212Img_5774.jpg

These are pictures taken in 2005 of my 88 Allante that had approx 55,000 miles when I sold it. Notice the same front plate insert! I know it should maybe be in the Allante section, but someone here expressed interest. Move them if you want Ranger!

That is a beautiful car, I can see why you would miss it. If I were able to order one it would be that color combo. Absolute perfection! Thanks carnut.

Was the Allante the only Caddy to be offered with a stick shift?

Allante was an automatic, wasn't it?

I'd be willing to bet the XLR doesn't have a clutch pedal. Probably a manual-matic.

No stickshift Allante sad to say. I sold it because I was afraid to put more miles on it and the value drop. I bought it for 12k drove it 2 years and sold it for 11k. There's more pictures under the Cadillac pictures blue banner at the top. Do a search for carnut!

All of the super old pre-Hydramatic Cadillacs had manual transmissions. In the last 30 years or so the memorable Cimarron had a manual transmission...

You know a late model Cimarron with a 2.8 V/6 and 5 speed manual wasn't a bad car to drive! Almost like a 3 series BMW from that era. That would be a fine car to find cheap.

It was the Cimarron that I'm thinking about, only "modern" Caddy with a manual? Shares the same platform as the Cavalier? Does the Allante share a platform with another GM car?
