Ran one of the RCA wires in my trunk (from left to right quarter panels.) Also started swapping my grille from '86 to '90 and changing the grille bezel from a ratty '87 to a nice '88. Then an unexpected rain storm came in and I got soaked. I'll finish the swap tomorrow.

Went to install my front fillers this morning. Found out my fenders have crusty rust from the brackets rubbing against the fender lip for 25 years and I have to reset my front bumper because it is off center quite a bit. On the plus side, my fillers perfectly match my car (except they're nice and shiny and my cars paint is ratty and not super shiny anymore)

Time to get out the rubbing compound and getting the rest of the car super shiny to match.

Needs alot more than rubbing compound that paint is shot (the header and hood and trunk look bad because the paint has tons of crows feet in them).
Besides, I'll be replacing the doors, trunk lid, and fenders (and hood if I can find one with no hail damage) with rust free straight ones (sure I could fix mine, but it's easier (and cheaper at $40 a pop) to buy new panels and get them repainted then to have to spend time grinding down the rust and beating out and filling the dents.

Ah, ok then. It is going to look a little wonky for a bit then.

I worked on my center console today....I notched the bottom for the seatbelts (pre-existing holes didn't line up) also decided that I'm gonna move the gauges up to the radio spot (got a 1.5 DIN radio bezel for it). I also cut the bottom for the seatbelt recievers....the precut holes were in the wrong spot by about 3 inches. I also am going to have to modify the rear panel of the console so that it sits properly on the trans hump

    mjs182004 and mjs182004 like this.

It's 10 inches wide. I'd have to measure the length (it's too long by about 1.5 inches though.
I also cannot use the ashtray anymore....oh well, it's not like I smoke- and I'm putting a charger port in the console.

I could shut them off (they are closable), but the defrost vents aren't connected to them (no tubing)
And no, I cannot use one of the original vents. They aren't the same size.

took the plastic sleeves off of my seatbelts (and removed the middle seat belts)....no more interference with the console.
Tonight, I'm making a panel to bolt under the rear deck that will hold the old school punch150 that will power the rear speakers and the crossover for the rear speakers/ subs.
