Just so you know, those rims are NOT chrome and gold. The spoked are rust.

Just have to clean and clear coat all 200 spokes x 4 rims
They also have knockoffs that require a special wrench to take off, which the car does not have....and have I mentioned how much I hate stupid spoked rims

Re: my 86 FWB 350 project ("hooptielac") thread

finally got my drivers seat back together. now to thread the sides for the proper screws to hold on the brakcets, and I can have a drivers seat in my car. I will also say, the comfort and support of the seat has been greatly improved. I added some thicker padding in the bottom and some to the thigh bolsters to make them a bit taller so I'm not sitting on the bolsters), and thick foam (i.e. pipe insulation) to the side bolsters on the back. I'll have pics up tomorrow.

    ----------

I also got my air cleaner lid repainted so I can have a 5.7 fuel injected by GM for cadillac lid on my not stock carb'ed 350

Oh yeah! Forget that one, go for the one with the 5.7 litre. We can at least have a chance of getting away from the cops when they chase us.

Got the drivers fender filler on. One corner looks like a proper caddy!

Also took off what was left of the drivers rear filler. About 2/3 of the outer part was still intact, the rest having disintegrated.

I got my 5.7 EFI by GM for caddy air cleaner lid on. Looks damn nice for a total investment of about $15 and 2 hours work.
    Old vs new

    On the car

Also pulled off the left quarter rub strip to reset it (because it had been lifting since before I bought the car). Found water and mold behind it....and rust!

So after a run to home depot and 8 dollars later, I had taken it down to bare metal. Tomorrow I plan on swinging by harbor freight and picking up a sanding block and board, and I'll probably end up having most of the quarter repainted thanks to some dumb@ss 20+ years ago taking a shortcut and attaching a piece of rubber trim with caulk on the perimeter instead of using double sided tape.

went shopping the past couple days. Bought a harbor freight sanding board and block. Also, ordered sandpaper from TCP global for that sanding board. Swung by a paint supply shop tonight and bought a quart of evercoat rage (because I didnt want to pay for a gallon of rage xtreme and they didnt have the rage gold). Also bought some application knives. I'll be having fun next week
