    Amen to that!

... and yes my comment was called for, apparently, as it reflected/mirrored EXACTLY what the moderator just said.

Making an ass out of yourself isn't called for. As the old saying goes: it's not what you say, but how you say it.

As we try to get back to the topic of this lovely car, I hope we can all learn from what happened here.

I felt the original posting by our forum friend had an embedded implication that all of the opinions and feedback offered by members on this super low mileage 79 Coupe were inconsequential because only this gentleman's important car collector friend could offer any meaningful input, and I found the rear end sniffing to be humorous so I couldn't resist a little friendly ribbing. I believe our friend was surprised anyone here would catch but also call him on his subtle cut on all of us, and his diatribe confirmed how he views us and showed us who he is.

This is a forum for all Cadillac enthusiasts and we are lucky to be able to participate in it. Everyone here has valuable experiences, knowledge, and passion for Cadillacs. We all need to work hard to play nice which makes it fun. When folks go off the reservation I feel they should expect some friendly jabs. Hopefully it can be a growing experience and we can continue making the forum the very best, just as Cadillacs are the standard of the world!

Re: LOW MILEAGE 1979 Coupe deVille

One hell of a car. So with these two pics, can you tell the exact weight of the car?

In the leather, is there a pattern?

I think you almost have to drive the car a least 100 miles just so you know there is nothing wrong with it. Its easier to sell when you personally know how the car drives and its easier to get a starting price point...I dont see how you dont take that thing everywhere you go.

^ Where did you get those nice pictures of that car? Step into 1979.

The pattern in the leather you refer to appears to be a pattern in the vinyl.

Yes kiddies.... I hope we can all play nice in this big Cadillac sand box. It amazes me every day on the beauty of some of the old classics and to think of all the experience and expertise on this forum. So that being said it would be nice to keep it courteous and professional. And enjoy the hell out of your rides.

Re: LOW MILEAGE 1979 Coupe deVille

First post on this thread, there's a link to 50 pictures of this beautiful car. Vinyl/Leather, same thing/price right? I wish I could find a 77-79 coupe with a cool ass interior to fit into the body style of the 80+

Many more pics if you follow the link in post one.

1980 deVilles had the same interior and door panel styles as 1979.

Re: LOW MILEAGE 1979 Coupe deVille

CS, 1980 and 1979 Coupe deVille had the same seat and door panel styles. 1977 and 1978 interiors were different. Take a look:

1980 standard Coupe deVille interior style: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/cad...y/bilder/8.jpg

    1980 d'Elegance (on right): http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/cad.../bilder/16.jpg

    1979 Coupe standard: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/cad...adillac/8.html

    1979 deVille d'Elegance (top right): http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/cad...dillac/14.html

    1978 standard: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/cadillac/78ca10.html

1978 deVille d'Elegance (77 was similar but door pull straps instead of swing handles): http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/cadillac/78ca15.html

1977 standard Coupe interior style (love the plaid!): http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/cadillac/77ca8.html

All classic 70's stuff, I love it!
