Has your system been converted to R134a? If so you want to use PAG oil. I doubt you will loose much oil if you are changing the condensor. Have you lost all of your refrigerent?

thanks for responding dennis. the system was r-134a from the factory, and i have lost all the refrigerant do to a large leak in the condensor. on my dryer it says to use synthetic oil #12345923 or equivelent, i went to 2 auto supply stores and they don't have any. they actually haven't heard of it

PAG oil is what it takes. All parts stores should have it.

Re: synthetic ac pump oil on 94 fwb?

thanks Jay. i know they must have pag oil downtown, i think synthetic confused them. While i'm at it can the condensor be removed by removing the fans and then pushing the radiator back till i get enough clearance to pull the condensor? i see that the oil cooler and tranmission lines are hoses and might give me what i need to remove it, i'm afraid i'll tear up the fragile aluminium pipe when turning the nuts.

    Jay is correct.
