For another $80-90 you could also do the calipers...I always clean the parts up real good to get any oil or grease off them and spray them with high heat black paint so then everything doesn't start rusting on you. Looks much better too if you can see the brake parts through your wheels. Good luck.
I"m kind of on a budget. But will consider doing the calipers. Can't see the breaks through the wheel covers, so not concerned too much with how they look. Although, advance auto parts has them for $17 each. Maybe I'll get the calipers too.
You can change the calipers but you don't need to, maybe just clean them off you know. Just change the pads and rotors. If you're interested I'd be glad to help you out with new rotors and pads.
One other thing to check, Please check the front brake rubber lines. I have seen to many people forget about these lines. And even if you replace pads, rotors, and ccalipers they are all useless if one of the rubber lines rupture. Most of the time you can see the outer rubber coating cracked up and coming off of the line. It is a MAJOR Saftey issue
If you are unfamiliar with replacing pads and rotors, watch someone do it on your car. Brakes are never a repair to learn on by yourself! There is a learned finesse regarding wheel bearing preload, lubing caliper guide pins, proper support of the caliper while exchanging rotors etc. Either pay someone or feed him or provide the beer! Caliper replacement is probably a waste of money but the hoses to them are a good idea on this old of a car. IMO.
