Thanks. And, thanks to Jay for recommending Fred to me. Fred told me last night that this is the 1008th wagon he has sold since 2002! If anyone is looking to buy a wagon, this guy sells nothing but the Roadmasters and Caprices. He seems to know everything about them, and is very nice and professional on the phone. It should be at my house in a week or so.

Absolutely I told him. He remembered you from a wagon fest, and the car he sold your friend. He is a really nice guy, and he told me that he has access to all kinds of parts if I ever need anything. Thanks again, Jay.

Or you could point out that if you ask a buick person his opinion of a buick, you know what you're going to hear. If you ask a Cadillac person what he thinks of a buick, you can take the answer to the bank.

    RMK...I like that
I've driven an 80s lesabre and an LT1 roadmaster as well as a 77 impala wagon and a 77 pontiac wagon. All of them have the same/ very similar driving characteristics to my fleetwood brougham have (big surprise since they all ride on the same platform.) They aren't really different as far as comfort/feel other than the seats (pontiac is the firmest, then chevy, buick, and caddy being the softest)

As everyone here has pointed out, the cars are very similar to each other. I wanted a fair, unbiased opinion from people I like and trust. I don't think I would solicit an opinion on my Oldsmobile or Mustang here, but the Roadmaster is the first cousin, if you will, of the Fleetwood that I have. Please don't get your panties in a bunch about this!!

Yes, you would have a cadillac wagon.. If they ever made one. Hence why the RMW has become the caddy alternative when more hauling room is required and the Escalade isn't quite your style.
Are you annoyed that GM offered rebaged versions of cars at various prices? Or that someone looking for a practical daily driver for his wife is more concerned with what fits his needs than how classy the car is? Or that someone who likes Caddies could also like another brand of car?

When I wanted an awesome cruising car for summer fun, I looked towards the class of the cadillac. But there's no question that I've had to do a thousand times more work on my Caddy than any Buick I've owned (which has been several).

Cadillac1980, chill. If you don't want to read about his new Roadmaster, don't click on this thread. End of story.

Agreed, and this would be the first place I would ask about any car I was interested in. Has anyone here owned and driven only one make of car all their life? I bet there aren't many. The quality of people on this forum is first rate,(with the occasional exception) I would want their consult on anything.
