State Farm For some reason the claim adjusters do not have payment information, so they have to wait for the agents that sign people up, to call them and verify whether a person is insured.. When I called State Farm, they're like, "uhh, we're still waiting for his agent to call us and tell us if he made a payment." Why can't you just take 30 seconds and call the agent? Why isn't his information in a universal State Farm database? Retarded.. Anyway, took three weeks, but the agent finally called and told the claims adjuster what I already knew..

Goods news, though. My uninsured motorist coverage was $3500, and Progressive gave me $600 for pain and suffering. I didn't even ask for the pain and suffering compensation, but my claim adjuster kept insisting on making a claim for whiplash. So I did, and they gave me a check for $4100 today. And I found out today also that the vibrating/grinding noise is the rear differential. I got hit hard enough to jack it up, so I'll have to replace it again.. for the second time. Ridiculous that my backyard Latino mechanic could assess the vibrating problem in five seconds, while the Cadillac technicians were dumbfounded.

The rear differential will be about $400 with labor, which leaves me with $3700 for body work, with which I think I can stretch and get all the repairs done. So, looks like the culprit will get away this time. I was gonna take him to small claims for the balance if it would've been a serious tranny or engine issue, but since it's just the differential, looks like small claims won't be necessary.

Wow, things seem to work a little different down there in the states. I just got hit on the 27th (6 days after i had posted on your thread) and I got the check over a week ago. I was talking to my adjuster and in canada, the insurance company of the other driver has 48 hours to respond with whether or not the driver is covered. For me, the longest wait was for the higher offices to send my adjuster the appraised value of the car.

It's a lose lose situation in CA if you are in an accident. They never pay what it costs to get it fixed, no matter who the carrier is. State Farm is the worst to pay amount needed for repair. Scares me to get on any of the freeways out here with all the flakes out there. A lot of them don't have insurance even tho it's a law. It's like the OP said, waiting to see if they made a payment. That is why the the adjusters or agents go for that pain and suffering even tho it's never enough to cover the deductible and actual cost to fix.
