    Disappearing Thread

Ok, I might be losing my mind. A few days ago there was a thread titled 93-96 Fleetwood owners experiences, or something similar. It was specific to the 93-96 Fleet and request owners experiences, fixes and pics, I even posted in it. Now, it seems to have vanished. Am I losing my mind, or did. this really happen??

    Re: Disappearing Thread

I think some threads were removed due to trolling...

Sad that even on a forum for people to discuss and help each other with classic car problems/experiences we get trolls.

    Re: Disappearing Thread

I just searched forum trolling to get the definition. I have heard the term before but never knew exactly what it meant. That's really unfortunate that people do that. I was very interested in that thread since it did pertain to me. I wish the troll would have been deleted instead of the whole thread. Oh well, I am glad to know that I'm not losing my mind and that there is a possibility that thread existed.

I think there was some over moderation considering that thread was removed . I have seen many useful topics derailed by off topic posts but these topics remain as they are .

After reading that explanation I now understand the reason behind the decision for deleting the thread.

Don't be to hard on the Mods here. It's a full time job watching over all the threads & topics here. Keep in mind, if it were not for the Mods there would be all lot of mud-slinging & very little car talk here....trust me I know I have seen it in other fourms where NO Mods are persent. We have it pretty good I say, the Mod we have here in the RWD fourm really knows his stuff when it comes to these cars & always has good input.....but then again thats just my two cents.

I am a mod one of the major car brands too . You might think that I don't delete threads at all . Nope, that's not the case I have deleted countless threads, messages and banned members too . My point was that deleted thread could promise and become a very useful one . There was no need to delete all the stuff but delete redundant posts . However, if whoever deleted the topic by Soft method this thread can be rectified too . I mean we can see it again only if they used Soft Delete unlike Hard delete that method leaves no traces at all once a topic is deleted

    Re: Disappearing Thread

    A few points:

I deleted the thread for multiple reasons. The major one was that it was quickly becoming off topic. However, there were a couple of other issues. We already have a "pictures" thread. If you want to post pics of your cars (or others), that's where they go. Additionally, the thread was about problems/issues with the 93-96s. This is not a good way to post info. It makes is really difficult to search when one is looking for technical advice. Members should start new posts (or add onto existing ones) for each issue they want to talk about.

I have tried very hard since I was made a mod to be very hands off. I move threads when needed, and generally don't do much else. I think I have given out less than five warnings/infractions since I started. I appreciate that most think I am doing a good job. In the future, if anyone has a question or an issue about something, please PM me. The forum is not an appropriate place to discuss moderation issues. I don't want to start issuing infractions for people starting threads like this.

85 Fleetwood, your post was deleted because it contained two Personal Messages I sent you. By definition, those messages are "personal". I am sure I don't need to provide a definition. Please consider that when communicating in the future.

I know I can't make everyone happy all the time, but I'll keep trying...

    Jason.
