If You Have a 77-79 Coupe De Ville, Please Read On.....

Hi guys, I was the junkyard the other day and made an interesting discovery, and wanted to share it with other Deville owners. I have been looking for scuff plates for my Deville for a long time, and been unable to find any. Well, when I was at the yard I saw a 78 Buick Lesabre coupe. The scuff plates looked similar, so I paid my $ 2.00 for it and took it home. It is exactly the same! This of course means that any 77-79 Lesabre, Park Avenue, Olds 88 or 98, Pontiac (whatever it was, I can't remember) Coupe scuff plates will fit our Devilles. The only difference is the sticker on the middle of the plate-ours says body by Fleetwood, the other divisions just say GM. Also, the plastic trim that goes up the front and rear of the door jamb that tends to disinegrate is the same. Our quest for parts that are no longer being made (or sold new) just got a little easier.

One thing that kills these is when the seat belt doesn't retract and you shut the door.

    some other things that fit:
interior rear window trim (same rear windows)
    A pillar trim
    glass
pretty much everything from the windw line up (except for whatever goes around sail panel windows)
armrests are the same for the 80s rwd caddies and the 98 regency/ brougham (and whatever else they called it). lesabre/ 88 armrest wont work. I think electra sedans and coupes armrests will work, but I'm not 100% on that. wagon armrests won't fit
also, can someone tell me if the lesabre/ 88 had the same length front doors as the 4 door caddy sedans? I know rear doors were longer by maybe 2 inches but the extra 6 inches in length between the b and c bodies had to be added somewhere besides the rear doors)

The problem is that production of coupes in these other lines were was lower than the Cadillacs. The Buick Electra was close in lbody style also. I thought they had an ugly classiness ( if that's a word) to them. I think I admired the style lines of those cars from those years more than any.
