    The 200R-4 is what's behind a turbo 3.8 so it will hold up just fine with a little tweaking.

    Right up to around 500 HP with some tweaking. Beyond that, it's a futile effort to try to keep the 2004-R together unless you want to spend a lot of money beefing it up. Here's a video of probably the 5th 2004-R I had in my GN. I was about $3,000 in the hole on rebuilds with a "reputable" race trans builder at the time....it couldn't hold 3rd gear.

    In a heavy car, installed behind a mild V8, I would just make sure you have a hardened input shaft on a 2004-R.
