    Distributor suggestions

    I have finally finished.buidling the 350 and putting everything together. But it wont fire arg. I had a spark but I can't figure out what I am missing. I am thinking I need to get a different dizzy. Does.anyone have any suggestions?

    If you are using the computer controlled one (from the 307 you parted out), then it won't work. There is no input unless you reconnected all of the computer controls to the engine.

    You need one with vacuum advance; like this one.

    I bet your timing is off 180 degrees, especially if you have some pretty decent backfiring out the carb and it doesnt even come close to starting. You can turn the dizzy 180 degrees or move the plug wires across. I do it every time, base my timing off the exhaust stroke instead of the intake stroke.

    I was just thinking the wire for the positive isn't going to.reach if I spin it the other direction.

    Well just verify you are top dead center of the intake stroke and not exhaust stroke before you start rewiring things. If you're on exhaust stroke, you'll have to turn the dizzy or the plug wires.
