But at least we still have the pleasure of his nearly 15,000 useful and helpful postings telling everyone else what to do. All part of the fun!

I'm sorry guys, I just don't know what happened. I need help!

Seriously though, I talked to my college auto professor friend with his own shop, and it WILL be going over there this spring. He has agreed to help me finish the car! So I have 35-40 years worth of auto experience behind me now. Awesomeness.

(And yes Craig, you are right. Life does seem to keep getting in the way!)

Matt, are you talking about wiring the motor to run? Its very easy. I can give you exact pics of what is needed. Four wires and you are running, extremely easy to do.

Yes, exactly that! Maybe I won't have to have it trucked all the way out to his shop then. And I know that you used the factory electric fuel pump in yours. How did you plumb that? Did you have to use regulators? Does your fuel system use the mechanical fuel-pump at all? Any and all details on your fuel system plumbing would be GREATLY appreciated as well. Thanks man, you've been a lifesaver on this whole (very long) project! (I'm just happy I put stabilizer in the tank at this point. )

I just have the stock electric pump in the tank and a regulator. The regulator has an overflow outlet so anything over 5psi goes back to the tank(using the stock return line also). The vent line that usually goes to the charcoal canister was cut and plugged close to the tank. I'll get the details and pics up tomorrow night.

Re: 1984 Coupe DeVille Engine Swap!

    Here's my setup.

First up...the gas lines: This is the only thing you need. A fuel pressure regulator w/return line. A link to the one I'm using...http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HL...03BP/?rtype=10
Tank to filter, filter to regulator, regulator to carb. Extra fuel goes through the bottom regulator line back to the tank. Vent line is cut and blocked off at the tank with a screw in the line. Its recommended to mount the filter near the tank, helps keep the fuel cooler for better spark, mounting in the engine bay heats up the filter which heats up the fuel which can also cause vapor lock.

Next, the alternator: In this pic, you can see the wire packs near the middle of the firewall and the wires that are needed to run the motor. The wire pack in focus shows a brown wire that will need to go to one side of the alternator connection.

The other end of that brown wire goes to one side of the alternator. I had to splice it into a harness that was for the cadillac alternator and thats my excuse for the ugly wiring. The other side of the harness goes to the power output of the alternator.

    Next up, the distributor:
The wire for the distributor comes out the firewall at the same place as the alternator wire. You can see in the pic, its one of the thick ones coming out the pack. That wire goes straight to the distributor IGN terminal and connected with a female spade terminal. The wire with the little white arrow

    Goes straight to the distributor...

    Now the fuel pump wire:
The green wire coming out this wire pack is the wire needed to turn the pump on when you turn the ignition on. I ran this straight to the fuse box and plugged it in to a terminal labelled IGN using a male spade terminal. The way I have it hooked up, anytime the key is in the ON position, the pump will run.

Kinda hard to see but you can see where I plugged it in to the fuse box(red arrow) and routed it through the firewall where a big vacuum line went through(green arrow).

    Last is the electric choke:
I have mine spliced into the wiper motor and ran to the power side of the electric choke. Spliced into the red wire on the wiper motor and ran directly to the electric choke.

Starter coil wire is also in the wire pack with the alt and distributor wire. The pink wire going down. I didnt point it out because photobucket is driving me nuts.
