I don't need the carb sucking up leaves when I start it.

It has come to my attention that once Matt finishes this car, not only will he NOT have his Oldsmobilin' under control, but he will have also made the problem worse.

    Also, free bump.

Let me guess, the Caddy will be too nice to drive?

No - it too has the heart of an Oldsmobile.

Re: 1984 Coupe DeVille Engine Swap!

Ahh, crap. My car has "the heart of an Oldsmobile".

What's wrong with Oldsmobiles? Didn't you want my mechanic's wagon, Sting?

Beggars can't be choosers, but when Engine Swap time rolls around, it's Cadillac 500 all the way. No exceptions.

    No no, I LOVE Oldsmobiles.

It's just that now Matt will never get his Oldsmobilin' under control.

^I still miss my silly little white car. The Olds is a good successor to it though. Looks like I have time to work on the Caddy this Wed. Stay tuned.

^ Agreed! Did you get that thing on the road yet? How many sets of tires did you burn through so far?

I know for a fact it isn't on the road yet. But I can say that I demand photos!

I think the last time we spoke about it he was still needing to do all the wiring.

Re: 1984 Coupe DeVille Engine Swap!

Sorry guys, the Michigan winter has put a hold on the project. By the time I got the engine mounts sorted out and had the engine sitting level, it was starting to snow. I'm not subjecting my 27-year-old Cadillac to sitting out for an entire winter, so it's in storage.

Things that still need to be done:
1: Bolt the radiator, fan shroud and the fan back in and hook up the hoses. (And re-route a belt because I'm dumb.)
2: Re-Attach trans-cooler lines at trans and radiator.
3: Hook power steering lines back up.
4: Hook up fuel system to the carb.
5: Wire up the distributor and other basic necessities to run.
    6: Fill and bleed systems.
7: Throw Frankenstein Switch and yell "IT LIVES, IT LIVES!"
8: Change the oil and filter after initial startup.
9: Get the exhaust system built.
10: Get AC system running. (Optional)
11: DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE!

If you can think of anything else that I need to do, let me know!
I'll be back at this once things start to thaw out!
